About us................................ |
A hard-worker, who started his career at age 16, owner Michael Moss has more than 25 years experience in the home repair and remodeling business. In 1978, his distain for the trend in the industry to cut corners, use low quality materials and provide poor service, led him to striking out on his own. However, home builders or contractors he subcontracted to, didn’t appreciate the quality of work he had to offer. One day, while completing a project for a homeowner, his break-through came. She said, “…you do such great quality work; you should have your own business!” She became his mentor, suggesting a new business name, designing business cards and even lining up his first customers. The rest is history. Integrity, Customer Service and Value: Our company’s success speaks for itself, whether it is subscribers recommending our work on Consumer’s Checkbook or listed in our customer-satisfaction notebook. We offer our customers integrity, superb customer service, and value. Mission: Our mission is to provide homeowners with the best quality work possible at a reasonable price. Honor and Integrity: House Beautiful of Virginia knows that many homeowners have had bad experiences with contractors who don’t show up, don’t get back to them and don’t answer phone messages. Communication is an important part of our company. Our customers know up front that we will return their calls within 24 - 48 hours, and arrange meeting times that are convenient to them—even evenings! House Beautiful delivers an initial estimate within 48 hours of initial consultation, and if the proposal is accepted, we will schedule the job within a reasonable amount of time, and finish it in a timely manner. We generally don’t get paid until the homeowner is happy with the work we’ve done for them. In addition, every employee in the company is held to our company’s honor code: “I get to work on time. I don’t miss work. I do the work correctly. I prepare the work thoroughly, keep my areas of work clean and don’t skip any steps in the process. I treat the homeowner’s home as if it was my own. I hold my co-workers to the same high standards, morals and work ethics as I do myself.” Customer Service Delivery: We treat people the way they would want to be treated, going above and beyond expectations. Mike states, “If I’m not completely satisfied with the project, I do it over again until it is just right, with the highest of quality materials and workmanship. I rely on my customers to recommend me to others, and a customer who isn’t satisfied will put my reputation on the line! So even if I put in extra work or materials and don’t make a profit on that particular job, it is worth it to maintain a happy customer.” Value: House Beautiful of Virginia is careful to define costs to ensure that their business is profitable. Customers know that the cost of their project might be a little bit more than our competition, but they also know that we provide only the highest quality materials for the job and the extra time needed for detailed preparation work in order to get the job done right the first time. Thus, we provide value in cost and services by saving our clients time, money and the normal head-aches of home repair.
